Johannesburg, South Africa – 9 October 2025 – EquityRT was proud to serve as the official Data Sponsor for the 17th CFA Institute Local University Research Challenge Final, hosted by the CFA Society South Africa at the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.
This year’s competition brought together 104 students from 21 universities across South Africa, all tasked with producing a detailed equity research report on Woolworths Holdings. The challenge concluded with a live final, where finalist teams presented their investment analyses and recommendations to a panel of respected industry professionals.
As part of the partnership, students were given full access to the EquityRT investment research platform throughout the competition. By working with real-world financial data, analytics, and market insights, participants gained valuable hands-on experience aligned with the demands of the investment industry.
A special congratulations goes to the winning team from the University of Cape Town for their outstanding performance. The team will now represent South Africa in the 2026 Global Sub-Regional Round.
